Both Boruto and Kawaki will Pay a Price

What if Boruto and Kawaki’s bodies gave up on them at the same? In recent chapters, both characters in their own ways have been sacrificing their bodies for the sake of power. Boruto is making a deal with Momoshiki, and Kawaki has been forcing Amado to amp his body to the absolute maximum capacity. However, the story’s themes do not align with what these two are doing. In fact, you can say these two are acting very Otsutsuki like at the moment. What do I mean by this? Let me explain.

To keep it brief, the theme of the story is hard work vs short cuts. The story wants the characters to embrace the fruits of hard work. So with that in mind, would we consider Boruto taking Kashin Koji’s knowledge of the future to enhance himself and those around him as embracing hard work? Or is he also taking a shortcut? Well it’s a bit of both. See Boruto is still following the theme of the story, because he wouldn’t be able to use the future to his advantage in this way if he and his allies weren’t willing to work hard. You can argue it’s a cheap way of powering up the characters, but I think it’s kinda a funny nod to Kawaki saying “we don’t have enough time to train.” back in part one Boruto. Just had to address all of this before I continued with the thought.

“Hard work vs short cuts” is a simplification to the theme of Boruto. It’s not just about whether the characters want to take short cuts or not. It’s also about temptation. Boruto was tempted by Katatsuke to use the scientific ninja tool before, and now with the lack of power, he’s finally giving into the temptation of Momoshiki’s power inside of him. Kawaki also gave into this temptation as well, but it was a while ago back when he had to save Naruto from Borushiki. There’s always a price to be paid when the characters make these kinds of sacrifices. Otsutsuki are very similar which is why I said this is very Otsutsuki like. The Otsutsuki will literally throw their entire bodies away in order to reincarnate through Karma eventually.

Now for the MEAT of the theory. Boruto most likely has a back of plan for this deal. If not, he is probably planning on Kawaki taking him out once the fighting with Jura is over. The way I see it, once the fighting is done, Momoshiki will be able to take control pretty much right after due to Boruto being weakened or having the karma active. Picture a scenario where Boruto tries to turn off his karma and it refuses to turn off, thus Momoshiki taking full control in the moment. Kawaki is then tasked to take down Boruto along with his friends Sarada and Mitsuki. But what if at this exact moment, is when Kawaki’s body gives out? And what do I mean by give out anyways? Kawaki’s body will probably overheat like it did when he first Met Boruto, when he first exerted too much power for his body to handle. Kawaki is older and now has an Otsutsuki body so it probably takes a lot more to overheat but he is pushing his limits and this is going to be that moment where everything back fires.

Kawaki will be down, won’t be able to move, probably lose consciousness. Sarada, Mitsuki and whoever else is around would have to grab Kawaki and run away, placing Kawaki into hiding. This time from Borushiki instead of Isshiki.

Boruto would be locked in the corner of his consciousness letting himself go fully believing in his friends not knowing what is occurring outside of his body. Or who knows maybe Momoshiki will turn the tables and THIS is how Boruto will despair. Momoshiki will tell Boruto that Kawaki’s body has overheated like it did back then and he’s going to take full advantage. In fact, Momoshiki can threaten everything Boruto loves, sorta like how Goku black did in super killing Boruto’s family using his own body.

Kawaki would have to undergo a training arc of some kind. Realizing he can no longer brute force this situation. What happens next depends on his options. If Kashin Koji is still alive, this will be a very awkward situation for one, but Koji can help use what he saw in prescience to train Kawaki. Konohamaru is another option, Naruto not being here, Konohamaru is the second best person for Kawaki to be open to learning anything from outside of Naruto. He IS Naruto’s student. Lastly, and the least likely, is letting Naruto out of the Daikokuten and asking for training. This can create a situation where Naruto gets to finally interact with Kashin Koji and also FINALLY train Kawaki once again which I’m personally dying to see.

Boruto in this situation I believe will finally awaken the Jougan depending on how that goes, while Kawaki will be learning something new which I can’t honestly guess what that could be.
