How Sarada Can Gain the EMS

With the recent chapters showing that Sumire upgrading Boruto’s sword with science, this effectively establishes her as a support character that can use her scientific knowledge to create tools that can help the main characters.

She’s doing this now for Boruto, so it’s only fair that she eventually does this for Sarada too.

Sumire as we know has spent the last three years working alongside Amado, she would’ve had gained a fair amount knowledge on Amado’s science.

This would include how Amado’s cloning technology works since she had to have witnessed the process of Amado creating Akebi’s clone body.

Applying this to Sarada, if Sumire could somehow get a sample of Sasuke’s DNA, she could use it with Amado’s cloning technology to clone Sasuke’s eyes.

That DNA sample could easily be obtained by Boruto visiting Sasuke’s tree, to carefully take a strand of hair or tiny blood sample to give to Sumire.

She would then give these newly cloned eyes to Sarada to implant into herself, effectively giving her the EMS.

Despite not being the original, they’re still an exact replica of Sasuke’s eyes containing his DNA and chakra, which still fulfills the requirement of using eyes from of a blood relative of Sarada’s.

This should work since it was already established by Orochimaru that both the Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan can be recreated through cloning.

So it stands to reason that someone as smart as Sumire could use Amado’s more advanced cloning technology to do the same thing with Sasuke’s DNA.

I say more advanced because his cloning tech was capable of creating Kashin Koji, a perfect clone of Jiraya that is capable of using Sage Mode better than the original could. So cloning a perfect replica of Sasuke’s eyes shouldn’t be out of reach.

This is probably the best and most accessible option there is, since it stays true to the established EMS lore of transplanting eyes from a blood relative, while also building on the story’s current themes of science and ninjutsu working together.

But also very importantly, it serves as the ultimate symbol of Sarada and Sumire’s bond, and how they’ll continue to support each other in their most difficult times.

Plus, it avoids the risk of having to stretch the plot by going to an old hideout that’s been abandoned for over a decade to search for a set of eyes that may or may not still be there.

And for the sake of time constraints, it saves the writers the trouble of having to come up with a whole explanation on what happened to Sasuke’s original eyes from the previous series.

This also protects Sasuke from his character being further diminished, by allowing him to keep his remaining left eye and not be used as something to give to Sarada.

Lastly, this option would still make gaining the power feel earned since its being given to her from both her father and her friend.

Once Kishimoto introduced the idea that the Sharingan can be recreated through cloning in Naruto Gaiden, this option was always on the table. It was right in front of us the entire time. Thanks again for reading.
