6 Years Later

What if we get an additional timeskip? Ikimoto takes inspiration from DBZ after all and DBZ has multiple timeskips. Hear me out.

The foundation of this theory is Kahsin Koji’s vision of Boruto being in rogue for 6 years. So if we’re assuming this is 6 years from the ending of Next Generations, then there was a timeline where this entire Boruto rogue situation lasted for 3 more years from where we are now.

Also there’s Sumire’s sword that she ended up inventing, there’s Inojin’s jutsu that he developed all on his own, Boruto mentioned a timeline where Kawaki had time to train with Naruto which is another piece of foundation for this theory too. And lastly Inojin and Himawari seem to be hinting at becoming much more in the future.

Inojin’s role in the story has expanded much more since Two Blue Vortex began. The love interest in Hima, being put on the front lines of the sensory aspect just like Ino was in part 1. Developing a new jutsu as well. What I want to focus on is the part when Shikamaru broke away from leading the Mamushi mission and he told Inojin “Take over the lead if you have to” or something along those lines. Basically placing Inojin in a position to lead. Inonjin didn’t step up in that way but he did defy Koji and ended up saving Kobu afterwards. I think this is the story telling us that Inojin has it in him, but he needs to be pushed to the point where he needs to step up. I feel like this is potential that can only truly be realized though another timeskip.

Himawari has also shown to have sudden expanded involvement in the story as well. She’s just now starting her journey as a ninja and she’s only about the same age as Konohamaru was in Shippuden. She’s becoming the heart of the story and that can be her role, but she was also given a huge power up through Kurama and at the very beginning of her training. Not saying she can hang with the best, but I doubt she can stand a proper chance against the big bads with just training. You never know though. But she is being hinted at for having a pretty big role in the story. We’ve never had someone her age be super relevant in the story when it comes to world ending threats is where I’m kinda getting at. Daemon however, is the exception.

I mention how Kawaki’s training was another factor in this theory which is a nice transition to how this timeskip will play out. The way I see it, both Boruto and Kawaki are basically sacrificing their bodies for power. Boruto is signing his body away to Momoshiki while Kawaki is continuously pumping his body with enhancements and breaking his limitations in order to gain an edge. Just like Naruto and Sasuke, I believe these two and their powers are going to be interconnected by the plot. Like when Naruto gains a power, Sasuke gains an power, when Naruto loses his power, Sasuke loses his power, when Naruto died in shippuden, Sasuke faced the same fate as well. Even in Boruto Naruto and Sasuke both got incapacitated and taken from the story at the same time. So I believe the same will happen for Boruto and Kawaki. I believe both of their bodies will give out at the same time.

The way I picture it, Boruto and Kawaki will both finally defeat Jura, and everyone would be prepared for Momoshiki to emerge. I can see both of them having their karma activated and Boruto unable to turn his’ off. Or maybe Kawaki will turn his head toward Boruto after the fighting is over and Borushiki is already awakened. Either way I can see everybody as well as Kawaki getting ready for a fight when suddenly Kawaki’s body starts malfunctioning, basically he overheats just like he did back then with Garou.

I don’t see it talked about much but I believe the reason why he overheated was because he wasn’t used to resonating with Boruto. Resonance literally pushed Karma far beyond what Kawaki was used to at the time and when his body caught up, it literally overheated just like Delta’s eyes with Naruto and his rasengan.

With that being said, resonating with Boruto on top of Both of their power ups should be able to take out Jura. But what’ll happen is as soon as Borushiki takes over, Kawaki will overheat and pass out like he did back then. Leaving the entire world to fend for themselves while Borushiki runs wild.

If this happens, the side characters would have to go out of their way to save Kawaki and bring him into hiding. Just like back then when he was hiding from Isshiki. Amado’s original plan. Boruto would be unaware of whats happening to Kawaki as he fully surrenders his body away to Momoshiki. Eventually Boruto will be aware but unable to fight back but instead locked away in the corner of his psyche just as Momoshiki said he’d do.

This is where we could get a “No More Boruto” kinda arc where Momoshiki literally destroys the village. I personally feel like Boruto needs to be the one to destroy the village to show consequences for allowing Momoshiki to take over. Plus Kawaki would be “right” and he needs to be proven right in order for things to hit so much harder. This would basically be Boruto’s “darkest hour” moment where he is at his absolute lowest, Kawaki is also at a pretty low spot as well.

This is where Kawaki finally enters his training arc that Boruto lightly mentioned before. Boruto said that if Kawaki trained with Naruto, it would be “more ideal” implying there’s a future where they did train and got results. THIS is the one time where Kashin Koji and Naruto could possibly meet if this is what we truly want to happen eventually.

Anyways in this timeskip we’d see characters like Himawari and Inojin finally step up in some post apocalyptic like world and become characters that can lead the front lines. Hima in terms of power and Inojin in terms of leadership. We’d get a chance to see Kawaki embrace both his Shinobi side and Otsutsuki powers exactly like Boruto is already doing right now. We’d get to see Sumire possibly create something else in place of Boruto’s sword to combat Momoshiki. Sarada would be much more skilled with her eyes but possibly on the brink of blindness depending on if she can find a way to fix the MS weakness. All these things can possibly happen during the present, but I think one more timeskip where they are all 19ish would work just fine.I think Code could evolve his power before this timeskip, being the one person Borushiki has to watch out for, but Code would also be looking for Kawaki too.
